Former Stallion Linebacker Brian Asamoah ‘18 was selected 66th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the 3rd Round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Asamoah became the third DeSales alumnus to be drafted, joining Matt Stewart ‘97 (2001, 4th Round, 102nd pick - Atlanta Falcons) and Gary Berry ‘96 (2000, 3rd Round, 126th pick - Green Bay Packers).
Asamoah declared for the NFL Draft in December, as a redshirt junior, after graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Human Relations.
This past season, the Second Team All-Big 12 selection, finished the regular season with a team-high 89 total tackles. He also recorded four tackles for loss, one sack and forced two fumbles throughout the 2021 season.
Asamoah started 19 games for the Sooners over the past two seasons. He led Oklahoma in total tackles in the 2020 campaign, finishing with 66 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception and a forced fumble last season.
