DeSales, the defending Central Catholic League champions, knocked off an unbeaten Lakewood St. Edward 24-2 at Northland High School. Joe Szabo opened the game’s scoring after a 48-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Wayne Roberts would convert the first of three two-point conversions for the Stallions to give the Stallions an 8-0 lead before the half. Tom Metzger would put the game out of reach with a pair of one-yard rushing touchdowns in the second half. The Stallion Defense held St. Edward to just two first downs and 27 yards of offense.
